We received the lease to our apartment yesterday, so it seems like things are really happening! I know we have doubted things over the past few weeks, but the pieces are all falling into place.
Last thing on the to-do list: jobs. What a long story this can be. Maybe for another day.

Starting something
So here we are. Just like thousands of others each year — even each month — we're moving to New York City. By we, I mean me, my fiancé, our two cats and our myriad suitcases. And by New York City, I mean an Upper East Side co-op studio that's only 300 square feet. Just like the thousands, it's going to be quite an adventure.
Aside from the usual moving stress, I am also in the midst of finishing my master's thesis, which is a looming 100+ page document that's supposed to be complete in about two weeks. We'll see how that goes...
Having lived in a college town for the past five years, I'm looking forward to a lot of changes. It's not like I'm new to NYC, but I have yet to experience it in its fullest form. I'm looking forward to the fast-paced environment, less nature, good food, endless shopping opportunities, more job opportunities and, most importantly, a chance to start a new life. And I couldn't be happier to be leaving the old one behind.
